Neris grew up in Metdenas, Imilaat, with her parents Jiowaren and Xinnaebah; she has no siblings. In 11221, she moved to Betaan, Imilaat, where she lived for nine years, working for the Imilaatan postal service and saving money to go to wizarding school. In 11230 she was accepted to the University of Nenise in Ertydo under the name Neris Ebaal, pretending to be a human 190 years her junior and dyeing her hair in order to avoid Ertydoan anti-dragon sentiments. At the University, Neris met Narax, also a dragon, and they became friends. She graduated in 11237 and moved back to Betaan, where she returned to work for the postal service (this time in a magical capacity). There, she met and, in 11240, married Parak Meldaav. They have no children.

Neris, as an unusual dragon of the blue group, can learn to turn into any species; her customary form is her human one of apparent Petaran ethnicity (pictured). She has a familiar erigrith called Lahatar.
