Alicorn is a college student pursuing a bachelor's degree in philosophy at a school in Massachusetts. She spends her spare time reading books and watching movies and TV shows that are fantasy or science-fiction, doing beading projects, working on her webcomic and other artwork, playing D&D, and fretting about whether she will get into graduate school. She can be found under the name Alicorn at most sites where she has a presence; if she finds it necessary to add a number she prefers 24. Alicorn is responsible for the setting features of Elcenia and all characters who are from Elcenia in the story.
| Tethys is a systems administrator/professional computer geek living and working in Utah. She has a degree in English from the University of Utah, and spends most of her time devoted to geekly sorts of interests, including a staff position for Mountain-Con, a sci-fi/fantasy convention in Salt Lake City. Her other online aliases include "Inferno" (www.theonering.net) and "DarkLadyoftheSith" and variants (various sites). Tethys is responsible for all setting features of Barashi and characters therefrom. We met on a messageboard in early 2006, having both joined some of the same play-by-post Dungeons and Dragons games, and began conversing via instant messenger in March of that year. In May, we began the Elcenia story as a freeform roleplaying campaign to pass the time, with Alicorn as the GM and Tethys playing Rhysel. Several hundred pages later, we realized we had a pretty good story, and started tossing around ideas to make it generally available as a work of fiction. Several thousand pages later, we finally came to an agreement about how to do it, and the result is this website!
